My Go-To Winter/Holiday Foundation!

Hello everyone!
I am beginning to get so excited for Christmas time! Although I am right in the midst of the busiest quarter of school ever I cannot help but take a moment to step back and observe all of the magic of Christmas.  The next two weeks of school are going to be less than glamorous with many all nighters, lots of ice-cream, and hours upon hours of projects! But when all of that is done it will be Christmas. And with Christmas comes family festivities, holiday parties, and plenty of cheer to go around! When that time comes I want my make up to look its best and after weeks of stress I have already come to terms with the fact that my skin may look quite tired! So I went hunting for a foundation that would provide great coverage, make my skin look and feel refreshed, and not be too heavy as I always prefer a more natural foundation.
I purchased the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in the color Mont Blanc Light 2 as I am quite fair.    This foundation feels absolutely amazing on my skin.  I don’t like wearing anything that feels too thick or unnatural on my skin so NARS Sheer Glow is perfect for me as it is extremely light and blends into my skin so well. It provides medium to full coverage and is totally buildable without getting cake-y which I find essential through Winter.
My skin also tends to be very sensitive which makes me very apprehensive about trying anything new as I never know how it is going to react so I do always recommend patch testing foundation before applying it all over your face but in my view, I found NARS to be really gentle for sensitive skin!
What is your favorite go to make-up in Winter and through the holidays? Make sure to leave a comment below with your favorite products as I always love to try something new! xx

Zoella's Girl Online | Book Review

Hello everyone!
After my VERY long day I blogged about last time, I was more than ready to get cozy, grab a cup of tea, and start Zoella's first novel Girl Online.  I have been so excited to read this book for months as I love Zoella's writing on her blog!  I intended to only read the first chapter as I was exhausted but the moment I picked it up I couldn't put it down. Fourteen chapters later, and  I only stopped when I remembered I had an 8:00 am class the next morning!
Since then I've finished the book and I can tell you it is truly amazing.  I had no idea what to expect as one of my favorite bloggers was transitioning into an author but I was immediately hooked!  I just want to say now that I am not going to give any details of the book up here as I'm sure that many of you are reading it now, or are planning to read it and I don't want to ruin it for you at all.
But anyways, the moment I started the book I related to the main character Penny!  Zoey's writing is witty, sincere, and sweet and the book talks about issues that so many teen girls face nowadays in an uplifting and positive way.  I love all of the characters in this story and Zoey makes you feel so connected to each of them!  I really really enjoyed the story and if you finish it I would love to talk about what you think of it in more detail! So if you've read it tweet me at @brittanyleland1 and we can DM and talk about all of the UH-MAZING details! If you haven't picked it up yet you can order a copy of it on amazon here!!
I think it would make such a lovely Christmas present as well! Let me know what you thought of it!

Those Hide Under the Covers Why Did I Get Out of Bed Days!?

Jumper: Forever21, Pants: Zara, Shoes: Custom Nikes,
Do you ever just have those days where you feel like the world is against you?
Yea, me too.
Today was one of those days where nothing could possibly go right! I started my day hitting my head on my counter while picking up my flat iron, and continued on by dropping my USB in the toilet by accident and finishing off with a driving ticket!
Ahhh! Why do these days happen?!
I just wanted to spend the rest of my day hiding under my duvet. But since that couldn't happen I spent my day in classes day dreaming about new ideas for the blog this month and came up with so many things that I want to write about!
I know I haven't been the most consistent lately, (naughty blogger!) but I want this blog to be my escape and my fun place to be creative and have fun so I don't want to force myself when its not happening! However I cannot wait to share with you some really fun posts through the month of December!
I'm thinking of posting every til' Christmas! How does that sound? I know, I know, I already missed the first day but hey give me a break! It's been a tough day!
I'm off to finish reading Girl Online Zoella's first book! (it's uh-mazing!)
How do you get through those crazy want to crawl under the duvet days?

My Fall Beauty Secret... Chanel

Hello everyone! It was Thanksgiving this week in the United States which is one of my favorite times of the year spent with friends and family eating delicious food and remembering everything we’re thankful for.  Trevor came home this week from school which made Thanksgiving all that much better. We spent the week seeing movies, baking delicious treats, and eating until we were stuffed with Thanksgiving dinner.
Whilst getting ready for all of the holiday festivities I realized that quite a few of my absolute favorite make-up products through the Fall are from Chanel! I’ve acquired these pieces over time as Chanel make up is fairly expensive, however these products would make lovely Christmas gifts for your wish list, and it is always a good idea to splurge on yourself every once in a while!
Firstly, I am absolutely obsessed with the Les 4 Ombres compact eye palette. My palette is the 202 Tisse Camelia, and I find is absolutely stunning.  It features 4 highlight pigmented rich and velvety soft eyeshadows. The colors include a lilac/brown shadow, an icy/blue highlighting shadow, a dusty pink shadow with a subtle gold shimmer, and a dark smoldering purple/brown crease shadow. What I love the most is that this palette is so diverse in the looks it can create ranging from a more natural day look to a dramatic smoky eye.  Along with it I love to wear the Chanel volumizing mascara. It is probably the best mascara I’ve ever boughten.  My lashes always look the longest and the fullest when I use it and it never clumps or flakes.
Purchase the Les 4 Ombres 202 Tisse Camelia here: Chanel Eye Palette for $61
Purchase the Le Volume de Chanel Mascara here: Chanel Volumizing Mascara for $30
At the beginning of November I treated myself to a new lipstick at the Chanel counter and I chose the Rouge Allure intense long wear lip colour in the shade The Envoutante.  The formula for this lipstick is so amazing as it is incredibly smooth and highly pigmented. I love dark lips for the Fall and this has been my go to throughout the season.
Purchase the Chanel Rouge Allure Intense Long Wear Lip Colour here: Chanel Lipstick for $35
Lastly, I’ve been looking for ages for the right lighter through out the Fall and Winter. I have a pretty fair complexion and I prefer to stay pale which means that sometimes gold toned highlighters don’t look right on me.  So I was so excited when I found the Camelia de Plumes silver toned highlighting powder .  I was attracted to it purely for the packaging as I think it is so beautiful but once I brushed it on I fell in love. It is so smooth and gives the most subtle shimmer to the tops of my cheekbones and any where else I wish to highlight.
Purchase the Camelia de Plumes Highlighting Powder Here: Chanel Highlighting Powder $71

These have been my absolute favorite beauty products through the entire Fall and I'm sure they will continue being my favorite through the Winter. They are definitely treats but would make great gifts for your wish lists this Christmas. Are there any beauty brands you have loved through the Fall? Leave a comment if you have! Happy Holidays!

Ipsy Glam Back | Girl Meets Glitter

Hello everyone! It has been absolutely ages since I have posted anything here or on my YouTube channel as I have been so extremely busy back at school in my last quarter studying Fashion before I graduate. It has been nearly impossible to make any time for blogging.  But I'm back! And now I get to share with you the November Ipsy 'Girl Meets Glam' glam bag.  I have been oohing and ahhing over it since it came in the post last week and I can safely say it is one of my favorite bags yet!
My first favorite I received is the delicious Be Delectable from Cake Beauty hand cream in the scent lemon and cream.  Oh. My. Gosh. It smells amazing. I just want to eat it!  My hands tend to be extremely dry in the Winter so I was so happy when I saw this product as I am always looking for something new to try for moisturizing my hands. This cream is crazy moisturizing without feeling greasy or sticky. Infused with shea butter, coconut oil, and aloe vera, it feels ultra-nourishing and was immediately thrown in my bag!
You can buy the full size here: Be Delectable from Cake Beauty for $12
When I first pulled out the J. Cat Wonder Lip Paint I thought I was grabbing an OCC Lip Tar. I've been coveting their matte lipsticks at Sephora for a while now but just haven't had a chance to pick one up.  Although this is not from OCC, I still got really excited to try it.  Yes! It is a bit messy especially if you decide to apply it with your fingers like me, but it has beautiful pigmentation and stays on my lips all day!  The color is perfect for Fall and Winter and overall I absolutely love it.
It may not be OCC, but it is much friendlier on your purse and I think it may be just as lovely.  Mine is in the color 'Queen of Harts' Find it here: J. Cat Wonder Lip Paint for only $4.99
Now I don't usually experiment with colorful eyeliners as I much prefer a classic black or natural brown but I surprised myself with how much I loved the Ultra Olive Starlooks eyeliner.  This pencil eyeliner is super smooth with a sultry cool olive color with just a little sparkle that can glam up your eyes for any holiday party.  It is definitely a special occasion eye pencil but I do think I will use it when I want to play up my eyes!
You can buy it here: Starlooks Ultra Olive Eye Pencil for $17
I'm not quite sure how I feel about the Temptu liquid highlighter. I've never used a liquid highlighter before which quite possibly could be the reason that I struggled with it, but I just found myself still reaching for my Chanel Camellia Highlighting Powder over this.  I just found it annoying as I tried to apply it and found it dripping down my cheek bones. It does create a beautiful highlight so maybe I just don't know how to apply it?
Try it for yourself here: Temptu Liquid Highlighter $28
Last but not least is the Clarisea Sea Salt Solution Powder Exfoliant.  Oh how I love this!  This is the loveliest exfoliator to create glowing skin through the Fall and Winter. I have super sensitive skin so I was apprehensive about trying this but it is really gentle on the skin and instantly left my skin feeling brighter. Try it here: Clarisea Sea Salt Solution Powder Exfoliant for $18.

All in all, I absolutely loved this glam bag. Ipsy has become my favorite beauty subscription service as I almost always love the products I'm sent and because I always get excited when I see the shiny pink bag in the mail! Again, I'm sorry I've been so MIA but I do have lots of exciting posts coming for the holidays so stay tuned!

Prada Glasses & Birthday Celebrations!

A few days ago we celebrated my Mom's birthday at the St. Regis is Monarch Beach. I always love visiting as we are greeted by beautiful ocean views while we sip on warm tea and indulge in chocolate desserts.  Yum! After lunch we went for a stroll embracing the beautiful early Fall sun and breathing in the smell of the ocean!  I was very keen to wear my new glasses that I had fallen in love with just a few days before at Nordstrom and could not help but snap of few pics to share on the blog.  I mentioned these glasses in my September favorites but they are the Prada 'Triangle Logo' 53 mm Sunglasses.  Honestly I think they could have been slightly more creative with their naming for such a beautiful pair of glasses but who really cares! I love this snow leopard print on the frame and the amazing grey sides with the minimalistic triangle Prada logo. I think these glasses will transition beautifully into the Fall/Winter as they are in such icy tones!  If you're interested in them you can find the glasses Here!.  I was also particularly happy with my outfit of choice for my Mom's birthday as I paired this beautiful 1State skirt with my Chelsea 28 ultra fluffy jumper and simple red flats from Payless.  I loved this look as it was perfect for the beginning of Fall and an amazing celebratory outfit for my Mom's birthday! Happy Birthday Mom! tehehe  I absolutely recommend a stay at the St. Regis of Monarch Beach if you get the chance as it is one of the most beautiful hotels I've ever visited!

My Favorite Lips of Autumn!

Autumn is one of my favorite seasons to really play with my lips!  It is the season for signature red kisses to accessorize your cat eye look and berry lips to play up any Fall look! And of course never under estimate the perfect nude lips for that smokey eye look that is so much fun for Fall.  I pulled some of my absolute favorite colors from M.A.C. that are my signature lips for Autumn to share with you!
So the first color on the left is the M.A.C. nude lip in the color 'Flesh Pot'.  This color provides the ultimate nude lip when you want to draw more attention to your eyes. I love this lipstick because it is extremely creamy and has a peachy undertone still providing your lips with just a hint of color. It also has a slight shimmer that makes your lips look fuller! This is my go to nude lip color.  Also, I use the lip pencil in the color 'Oak' from M.A.C. to wear along with it!
The next lipstick in my line-up is a light pink color called 'Creme Cup'.  I love this color because I think it can be super diverse regardless of the fact that it is such a simple light pink color.  I think it can be translated near the end of Summer when you are still holding on to the last few shades of your tan and don't want to fully jump into Fall, but it also becomes one of my favorites as Fall progresses into cooler days because I think it creates a really sweet chilly rosebud type lip!  This color is really beautiful and is mostly natural looking so I don't tend to wear a lip pencil with this one!
The next color is definitely my favorite lip color for Fall and has been since last year! It's in the color 'Rebel'.  This color creates the ultimate pouty berry lip. It is bright and attracts attention straight to your lips!  Even though this is such a statement lip color, I have found that it looks good in a diverse range of looks and hasn't limited what I can wear with it at all!  You can blend it out with your fingers to create a more berry stained look on your lips or wear it full force for a statement look! With this color I match it with the lip pencil 'More to Love'.
The next lipstick I love is definitely a more daring look.  It is in the color 'Cyber' and honestly I have to gather up the courage sometimes to pull this color out, but when I do I always love it!  It is an extremely dark purple almost black color and creates an ultra vampy look.  This color takes a lot of confidence for me just because it is so harsh but can really make your look edgier for Fall which is so much fun to play with.  With this color especially I recommend using a lip pencil and when I wear this one I use the lip pencil in the color 'Night Moth'.
This next one is a big favorite all through the Fall for me and is in the color 'Heroine'.  It is a bright purple color and appears much brighter on than it looks in the picture above (second to the right). This is another statement lip, but I think that is part of what makes it so much fun!  It is perfect for Fall and is a fresh take on the berry toned lips! I love wearing this color with a super neutral matte eye with a cat eye which I think looks ah-mazing! This color calls for the lip pencil called 'Fashion Boost!'
The last lipstick I have to share with you guys is my absolute favorite red lip.  I had a hard time finding a red lipstick that fit me either they were to orange, too dark, or just not right! But this one has captured my heart! It is in the color 'Studded Kiss' which is perfectly fitting for the color!  I love this red because it has a more blue undertone and makes your teeth look nice and pearly white!  This color is my favorite red lipstick for that classic red lip and cat eye look that is so famous for Fall and the holidays!  I use the lip pencil in the color 'Redd' for this lip and I think it looks super lovely for this time of the year!
So those are my 6 absolute favorite lipsticks for throughout the Fall Season.  I love the range you can play with in color for your lips in Fall and I hope these tips and recommendations can help you find the perfect lipstick for the season! Feel free to comment with your favorite style of lips for the Fall or your favorite color you think I might like!! Fall in Love | Favorites for Fall

Tis' the season of twinkly fairy lights, crackling fires, and pumpkin spice everything!  I absolutely love everything about Autumn as the days get cooler, the nights even crisper, and beautiful leaves all over the ground.  Now that it is officially Autumn I couldn't resist sharing a few of my favorites things that I love about Fall.  I found the Autumn tag from the beautiful blog Oh Dreaming.  So.. let's begin!
1. What is your favorite seasonal drink?
Well, honestly year round I love drinking Soy Peppermint mochas from Starbucks, but as it is most definitely a Fall/Winter drink I only truly allow myself to indulge during this time of the year so it is definitely my favorite autumnal drink.  However I drink too many cups of tea during the fall as well!
2. Accessories?- What's your go to in the Fall?
I love hats in the Fall. I believe hats/beanies change a look entirely and can be so much fun in the fall to mix with different layered looks.  However lipstick is truly my favorite accessory for the fall!  Someone once told me that lipstick is a girl's best friend.
3. Music- What is your favorite music at this time of the year?
I don't necessarily have any specific music that I listen to at this time of the year, however I can tell you that I am still entirely obsessed with Ed Sheeran's album 'X'.  Also, I do tend to slip in a few Christmas songs beginning around this time of the year! Shh.. don't tell anyone :)
4. Perfume-What is your scent in the Fall?
Well, I believe I mentioned this in a previous video but my signature scent this Fall is a combination of Jo Malone scents.  The two I use are the Peony and Blush Suede, as well as the Velvet Rose and Ode.  It smells ah-mazing.
5. Candles- What scents will you be burning this season?
I love candles especially at this time of the year! Right now I am burning a Chesapeake Bay Candle in the scent Cinnamon Swirl.  I really love warm sweet scents that make the house smell like you've been baking or like you're getting ready for Christmas.  I also love my Nature's Wick Pumpkin Nutmeg scent it smells so good and is the perfect scent for Fall!
6. What do you love most about Autumn?
I love the entire atmosphere that comes with the season.  I love the feeling of getting ready for Winter as everyone begins wearing warmer layers and boots as they crunch along the sidewalk on the beautifully covered leaves.  I love the crisp cool mornings as you walk out of your favorite coffee shop with a steaming cup of something delicious in your hands and and the sensation of everyone becoming a little more friendly as we are slowly making our way to Christmas.
7. What is your favorite make-up look for Fall?
Mmm... I can't help but love dark berry toned lips. I like to keep a neutral eye palettes using browns and golds, and using a light contouring with a light blush. And then a really great Autumn berry lip.
8. What're you looking forward to in Autumn?
There are so many things I love! Football games, colder weather, shopping, but mostly Thanksgiving!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! It's a little different from what I usually do but I was inspired by my cozy cup of hot chocolate and I loved answering the questions! I officially tag all of you to answer these questions yourself!  Leave a link to your answers so I can see all of your favorite things of Fall! I can't wait to see what you guys love!

Frank Body Scrub | A Review

You can buy Frank Body here:
I am so happy to be back writing on my blog.  After taking a quick hiatus to recover from a very busy quarter of school, spending time catching up on sleep, reading numerous books, and drinking too many cups of tea to count I feel so refreshed and excited to write again.  Amidst the flurry of finals I spent plenty of time daydreaming about break and how I was going to pamper myself when I got home and pamper myself I did!  I stumbled upon an amazing vegan brand called Frank Body and I immediately fell in love with their product.  Frank Body is a Melbourne based brand that makes several different flavored coffee based body scrubs and oh my they are luxurious. I was apprehensive about a black scrub dreading the clean up that would ensue, but reading the descriptions of each product I couldn't help myself. I quickly ordered one of each flavor and excitedly got in the mail a few days later. Quick side note, the marketing for Frank is on point.  I received several cheeky emails keeping me up to date as to when my Frank scrub would be arriving and they actually almost made me laugh aloud!  They made me all the more excited to try the product!  I kept for myself the Frank Coconut and Grapeseed Oil scrub, while gifting the Original scrub, and the Cacao Coffee Scrub to my Mom and my boyfriend's mom!  And oh my god, it was AMAZING. The scrub comes in a resealable bag and the minute you open it the aroma of coffee and coconut envelop you!  I could hardly wait to jump in the shower!  The scrub is definitely messy, but it almost makes it more fun as you're scrubbing away and it's easy to splash it down the drain when you are finished! My skin felt luxuriously moisturized when I got out and only left a faint trace of coffee and coconut scent on my skin.  Throughout the day my skin felt so soft and was visibly brighter.  With so many delicious ingredients it has amazing healing properties for your skin.  I absolutely fell in love with Frank, and will definitely be repurchasing this scrub throughout the Fall and Winter to keep my skin soft, refreshed and moisturized.
Have you tried the Frank Body Scrub? What's your favorite scrub?

Zinc Cafe and Market!

Today is a slightly different post from the usual, but I thought I could share with you this amazing little cafe restaurant coffee shop place I found.  Recently I've been exploring L.A. as I live in one of the most exciting cities in the world and I feel like there are so many hidden gems that I don't even know about!  So while I was at my internship, my boss and I stepped out for a coffee and happened upon Zinc Cafe and Market.  Walking in I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere. The cafe is set up into different seating areas. There is an outside garden for appetizers, a beautiful bar for drinks, a dining area, and even a little bakery style bar where people were eating the most amazing smelling Belgian waffles.

I absolutely love the design of this place.  It is cozy and inviting without being stuffy or cluttered like I find so many cafes to be.  I snapped a few pictures of my favorite parts to share with you because I just thought it was so lovely and I loved all the little details in the decor. Since I first went, I've gone back several times and can strongly recommend their lattés, scones, and pizzas!  If you're ever in the arts district or in the downtown LA area you absolutely must stop in! :)  (It's located on Mateo Street) If you have by chance been leave a comment with your favorite item on the menu! Have a lovely day! Also if you didn't get a chance to see I posted a new video which you can watch Here!!!

Worry Less OOTD | Celeb Shades

The other day my old roommate Drew and I along with our friend Paz went to USC to visit the Rose Gardens.  Ever since I was little I've loved these gardens as I've walked past them every fall on my way to the Coliseum for football games with my Dad.  But summer time is by far one of the most beautiful times to visit.  I love visiting the gardens as they're so peaceful and it was the perfect end to a busy week of midterms at school.  I'm already getting so excited for fall as it is one of my favorite seasons and I wore my new Rag and Bone pants that will be perfect this autumn! I also wore another pair of Celeb Shades that I am absolutely obsessed with.  More and more I am loving glasses as an accessory for my outfits because I think it creates a finished look for each of my outfits.  I recommend shopping at Celeb Shades because they have so many different styles and that can create so many cool looks at an amazing cost.  The ones I'm wearing in this look you can find here!!.  What are you most looking forward to wearing this fall? Show me your favorite accessories or your favorite pair of Celeb Shades.  Have a lovely day! -xoxo

LA Street Art & Celeb Shades

Yesterday my boss and I took a little break from a photo shoot we were doing and headed to the Urban Radish. The Urban Radish is a delicious little market and eatery in the heart of the art district and the first time I went I fell in love.  Their entire shop is based around bringing fresh nutritious foods to their shoppers.  It has a fresh inviting energy and you feel right at home when you walk in. You can stop in for lunch, grocery shopping, or even a coffee!  It is one of my favorite places to go after my internship! After stopping in there, we took a walk around as there is the most amazing street art in this area!  I got particularly excited by the dinosaur mural and couldn't help getting a few pictures!  I just think it is fascinating how talented some of these artists are! I don't understand how they can make it so big!!
For my internship I was wearing my favorite top from Kaya di Koko and I paired it with my trusty Rag and Bone Jeans!
But my favorite part of my outfit were my glasses.  I'm literally obsessed with them!  When it comes to glasses I have a hard time spending a lot of money on them and making a big commitment as there is always something new that I like and I sometimes tend to lose/break them.  Which is why I am in love with the website With this website you can find so many cute pairs of glasses and sunglasses and they're all super affordable! This website is perfect for me because I don't have to worry about losing them or breaking them and I can always change my mind and buy a new pair without dropping hundreds of dollars on them!  I think glasses are such a fun way to play with your outfit and these are going to be my favorite for fall!  You can check out their website Here! If you're interested in their selection!
If you live in the L.A. area or have visited and know of any amazing places I would love to hear suggestions as I always love trying something new!! Yesterday I uploaded a new video which was a haul from one my favorite shops!  If you haven't seen it yet, you can watch it Here!!  Leave a comment with what you would like to see in my videos in the future!! Have a lovely day! -xoxo

Mini Holiday to Santa Barbara | Intern Photoshoot Part 2

Happy Sunday everyone!! This week I've been horrible about writing.  School has been so busy and I've truly just felt overwhelmed with all that I've been doing.  As a result blogging had to take a backseat for the week.  But this weekend I went on a mini holiday with Trevor and his family to visit his grandparents just north of Santa Barbara and I'm now feeling refreshed and even more inspired for writing.  I spent the weekend meeting seals, watching whales, and playing with starfish and crabs.  The beach is one of my favorite places in the world it is so soothing and I only wish I found more time for it.
This is just a short post, but it is the second part of a shoot I did for my internship a few weeks ago for their resort collection for this coming Spring.  I fell in love with this dress the moment I slipped it on and can't wait to add it to my wardrobe when it is actually out! I also adore my headband which was gifted to me from Paper Sails ! I love the colors and think there are so many ways to wear it!  Go check out their Etsy site and pick your favorite!
I hope you guys all have a lovely day! I promise to much better with writing this week! Also, I will have a new video up Monday so be sure to look out for it! You can find updates for it on my twitter account which is @brittanyleland1 If you didn't see my last video you can watch it Here! At my Channel!!!!

Fin Free | Lush Campaign

As many of you may know I absolutely love Lush, as I’m sure most of you do as well! I love every aspect of Lush from their amazing products, to their charity work, and of course their mostly organic environmentally aware approach to cosmetics.  So when I saw a few months ago that Lush was beginning their second campaign against shark finning I was beyond excited!  Several years ago I watched a documentary called SharkWater made by Rob Stewart and since then I’ve had such a soft spot for sharks.  I learned that over 100 million sharks are being killed a year to be finned for shark fin soup and although there has been a lot of progress in the fight to ban shark fins there is still a lot of work to do.  Sharks are the biggest part of our ecosystem and it is not only crucial for their survival but also for ours.  Sharks' fins are being cut off, and then they're being thrown back in the ocean alive, and left to die.  At the rate that sharks are being killed it is estimated that they will be extinct in the next decade.  We have to make a change.
It happens that every time I walk into Lush I always leave with a charity pot in my bag.  For those of you unfamiliar with Lush Charity Pots, they’re little pots of body lotion (that smell absolutely amazing) that have a sticker on the lid with different charities that Lush is supporting. 100% of the profit goes directly to your charity of choice and I love being able to give back even if it is in the smallest way.
As I tend to be in Lush quite a bit and have accumulated one too many charity pots, I’ve begun accompanying them in my gifts to people!  My friends and family always love receiving them, as not only is the body lotion amazing but it is always nice receiving a gift knowing that it was also a gift for someone else in need.
Knowing that the beginning of August would bring the Shark Fin campaign at Lush, I went in straight away this morning to pick up my own.  So I of course picked up the Shark Charity Pot as well as the Shark Fin Soap.  The shark fin soap is actually the same soap as the Sea Vegetable Soap.  I am already a huge fan of this soap for summer as it has a light and refreshing scent as well as Seaweed to exfoliate your skin, but I think the little fin on top is my favorite part!  If you love the Sea Vegetable soap I suggest you pick up the Shark Fin Soap through this campaign as Lush is giving a better deal for the soap and 100% of the proceeds go directly towards the cause.
If you would like to read more about the documentary SharkWater you can find information Here!! I also went to the website Fin Free and took the pledge to not consume or support any restaurant or company that uses Shark meat or uses shark meat in their cosmetics.  If you would like to take the pledge you can do so Here!!!  We all have such a large responsibility to preserve our world and the life in it and by becoming educated on the impact finning has on our world you can make a difference.  We can still change things and save these sharks but it is only going to happen if we begin doing something. So begin today. Whether it be by renting the documentary, or reading about it online, you can take the pledge or donate towards the cause.  You can even go to Lush and support the cause with Shark products.  If you choose to support the Fin Free movement make blog about it and help more people become aware, and definitely tag me so I can check it out!  This subject is so important to me and there is so much we can do to make a difference! So just begin! Have a lovely day guys!! -xx

Try the World | Subscription Box

So today's post is a little bit different! I am still continuing with my Tuesday monthly subscription box reviews it just so happens though that this week's box isn't about beauty and it's not monthly!  However it is an every other month subscription and it is about delicious food so I figure that makes up for it!  So the box that I am reviewing today is the Try the World Box.  The moment I found this box online I fell in love with the concept and ordered it right away.  The idea is, is that every two months you will receive a beautiful robin's egg blue box on your front step and inside will be the best treats and gourmet snacks from a country that is that month's theme! The first box I have received is the French box and  oh my it was filled with delicious treats!
On top of the box comes a little booklet all about the culture and lifestyle of the country that is being highlighted.  So for France, I was given popular french songs, classic poems, places to visit, and delicious recipes!  This is the perfect introduction to the box as you get a little taste of the country before you even take the first bite!
The first items I pulled from the box are these hot chocolate packets.  I am a huge fan of hot chocolate so I became very excited when I pulled these out!  I haven't had a chance to try these yet as Los Angeles is currently experiencing a heat wave, but I'm looking forward to some fall weather so I can whip these out! I also love the packaging of these little packets they're very French!
Next out was another beverage! Tea! I am a big tea drinker especially in the Summer so I was very excited for these and I actually tried one this morning and they're so delicious.  I'm definitely going to try and find this brand online because I really enjoyed their tea!
I don't have too much to say about this, only because I'm not the biggest fan of mustard, but I'm sure my Mom will be pleased with it as it has really nice packaging!
Oh I love Sea Salt, and I love this packaging.  I really want to make chocolate chip cookies with these! Have you guys ever had salted chocolate chip cookies?! They're so good! Maybe I can share a blogpost if I make them and they turn out well! Well anyway I am super excited about this one!
I brought these with me to school today because as a fashion student you never have time to eat a proper meal and these were so amazing!  I still have my second one left but it is so delicious and eating it I actually felt like I was having a treat straight for Paris!  I think its time to book a trip! Oui?
This is a little box of caramels and they are absolutely to die for. I didn't show you the inside as there are only one or two left but they were so good! I love caramel!
This is a chestnut spread and let's just begin that I love that this is in a tube.  I don't know why but I just think it is so cool!  I think this spread could possibly be really delicious on toast or a croissant! I'm definitely going to try it!
Lastly came two jams one in apricot and the other in blueberry.  Again I'm not the largest fan of jam, but my Grammy is so she will be very excited by this little treat! I know I've said this about every item, but I also love the packaging! The little glass jars are so cute!!

Ok so I think it is clear that I am slightly obsessed with the packaging from this box.  From the Try the World box with a hot air ballon, to the glass jars and salt containers every little detail was thought out making this box feel so authentic.  I understand now why the box does cost $45 which is a little pricey however since a box is only delivered every other month I don't think it is absurd!  I loved getting a little taste of all things French and can't wait for the next country and next box!  If you are adventurous with foods or just love the idea of travel this would be a perfect box for you! Leave a comment below with your favorite monthly subscription box service! I hope you have a lovely day guys!
