A New Year's Resolution...

A New Year, a new you... well that's what they say at least.  2013 has been a year of accomplishments for me.  I have had so many amazing experiences and it amazes me how much has happened in one year and yet it feels like it has gone by so fast.  I have been thinking about resolutions to start my 2014 year and I'm hoping that by reflecting on this past year I can find out what I want for this next year and how to be new and improved!!

So we will start with New Year's Eve last year.  It was the night I made the resolution to be the strongest version of myself.  I vowed to not be weak and to make every day an adventure.  And I can proudly say that through 2013 I feel that I kept up with those resolutions.  (For the most part)  In my case it was truly a night for new beginnings.  For some reason I really became aware of the near end of high school and started looking past high school to my future which was both scary and exciting.  I think that New Year's was when I decided what I wanted to be doing who I wanted to be. It was the night I also had my first New Year's kiss and was just the beginning of something new... (:

Fast forward to the beginning of March my 18th birthday.  Up until that time the New Year was going just fine but this was the first big event all year!   On the night I became legal I got into a pretty bad car accident which  was not a great way to celebrate getting a year older and resulted in me having to say goodbye to my beloved Jeep.  The departure was inevitable as it wasn't quite plausible for me to drive a huge Jeep around L.A. but it was definitely a premature departure and heartbreaking none the less.  But don't worry the rest of my first night at 18 was actually pretty good:)

April brought Coachella which by far was one of the best weekends of 2013.  In 72 hours I danced my ass off, screamed the lyrics to all of my favorites songs, and twerked at 2Chainz. Yes... I twerked. We will just move past that.. tehehe...  Anyways... that weekend was my perfect senior trip.  Spending 3 days with best friends from school and having so much fun made it one of the best parts of my year.

May meant the end of high school a bitter but mostly sweet moment that marked the end of horrid uniforms and weekly masses.  Graduating was an amazing accomplishment just to have finished high school and getting excited looking forward to the beginning of my future. It was also a little scary as a I realized in just two months I would be on my own for chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and I would be doing my own laundry!
!

But before I could dwell on that too much I was in Europe which is where I spent most of June traveling through Sweden, Norway, Germany, Denmark, and Russia.  This was my graduation present and spending a lot of time with my family and exploring a lot of amazing cities was the best way to begin my Summer.  I fell in love with Denmark and still cannot                                                                 wait to go back.

By July 4th I was having my last day before I moved to LA.  Being that this is my favorite holiday it was the perfect way to celebrate before starting a whole new adventure! 4th of July is huge in my family with fireworks, barbecues, and lots and lots of s'mores!!  I spent the day with family, Trevor, and my best friend Jenn.

Ah! Moving into college.  Every kid experiences it and yet you have no idea what to expect when it's your turn to pack up your room and move in with total strangers! Luckily this day had no tears from my parents and my roommate was absolutely amazing!  Before I knew it I was starting classes and falling in love with my school and the city I was in. I love Los Angeles.

My biggest accomplishment or most exciting day over Summer 2013 was easily the day I went Skydiving!! Having it on my bucket list since I was 12 did not mean I wasn't scared out of my wits because I was but it was one of the most amazing days of my life.  If you haven't jumped out of a perfectly good plane yet then you haven't quite lived because it is definitely an adrenaline rush!

Saying goodbye to Trevor in August as he headed to school in Washington was definitely the biggest change and hardest part of 2013.  Considering that most of the year so far we had been inseparable it was not fun at all being apart.  The next few months proved to be challenging as we had to learn to be apart.  That was definitely not an easy day, even though I was so excited for him to begin his new adventure!  Looking now I can see how much we have grown together and individually and can be proud of our relationship and how we have grown together even when we were so far apart.

September was my first week of finals in college and I was able to finish extremely proud and passing all of my classes.  I also spent that same week moving into my new apartment with my favorite three people which was really exciting but also totally exhausting and by the end I was ready for a much needed 3 week break.  Those three weeks included a lot of sleeping and not a lot of productivity which was not a great way to spend my time!

However October was a great month for me.  I started this blog and opened my look book account which has become a great outlet for my creativity and a space to call my own on the internet.  I felt much more productive and inspired which is always a good feeling and so I loved this month. I also went to Washington for the first time and spent a weekend with Trevor exploring his school and that was definitely an amazing weekend and my highlight of October.

November was mostly a blur of stress and school with a slight highlight and break that was Thanksgiving week.  All of November included a lot of school projects and several times I got close to my breaking point.  But Thanksgiving was an amazing time for family and also a few amazing days with Trevor which helped break the daze I was in from school and lack of sleep!

December is always my favorite time of the year because it means the Christmas season! December was a great month as I was extremely prepared for my second time round at finals and I got to spend a lot of time with my mom and brother with lots of Christmas festivities!!  I got to spend Christmas with my family and also begin my 3 week break from school and spending the break with friends and of course Trevor :) We also had a big celebration as we celebrated our one year anniversary and went to Cirque du Soleil which was so amazing and wonderful and I've never been and I loved it so much and ahhhhh it was sooo cool!!

So as you can see I've had quite the amazing year.  I am so looking forward to 2014 but I have yet to decide on a New Year's resolution.  I'm hoping to have just as an amazing year as 2013 has been!! I guess I will just have to keep thinking on a resolution for myself but I will definitely let you guys know when I figure it out !  I hope you guys enjoyed this post just reading a little more on what my year has been like!  I'd love to hear highlights on your guys' year so leave a comment about your favorite moments of 2013!! Have a lovely day guys!

Something different..

http://www.sharkwater.com
This post is very different than most posts I write about but the topic is very close to my heart and  I find it extremely important.  As I've gained awareness about the danger our oceans are in through a few documentaries and a lot of research I feel I have the responsibility to spread the knowledge and  make as many people aware as I can and start to change things.  Growing up I have been so lucky to get to live by the ocean.  I get to see the beautiful water and beaches all of the time and it has helped me gain a healthy appreciation for our oceans.  Beyond the beautiful surface though is all of the life in the ocean which is the part that I find so fascinating.  There's a whole other world out there and were barely apart of it.  That is why after watching both documentaries Shark Water and Revolution both directed by Rob Stewart I became concerned, no... terrified of what our futures holds with the destruction of our oceans.  Humans are killing 100 million sharks a year for a fin industry and hundreds of species disappear daily from our pollution.  I'm scared that in 10 years we won't have beautiful coral reefs and exciting animals to swim with.  I think it is extremely important to watch these documentaries and become active in fighting against pollution.  Get as many people as you can to watch these documentaries!  Shark Water is available on iTunes to rent and will open your eyes to so much that is going on! Be active and fight for what is right.  Below I'll leave the link to the Shark Water website where you can get more information about the documentary.  I hope you guys didn't mind the change in posts but this is really important to me and if you're still reading then I hope you will give these documentaries your time because it is so important. Thanks guys! Have a lovely day!

Day after Christmas Lush haul!!!!!

Christmas is my absolute favorite time of the year, and so when it's over the only thing that can truly cheer me up is a little bit of after Christmas shopping.  And my favorite place to go? LUSH.  The day after Christmas Lush has the most amazing Christmas Special of buy one get one free on all Christmas products.  This can be quite dangerous for those of us who have a hard time resisting a great deal and a bag full of goodies.  And so I thought I could share with you guys all of the treats I picked up
As you can see I got a little bit excited!!

These are just a few of my favorite products at Lush! Most of these are only out at the holidays, but I think you can still catch them as well as the great buy one get one free sale through the New Year!
I'm just going to tell you about a few of my favorites, but I will also give you the titles of the rest of the products in case you would like to pick up one of your own online at lush.com or if you want to stop by in your local lush shop!
The first two items I picked up which I am extremely excited about are in the picture above and are Lush Christmas gifts sets.  The one on the left is called the Woweeeee gift set and consists of a Sandy Santa solid body butter, Dirty Springwash Shower gel, Blue FUN Soap, and a Mr. Punch Soap.  It is such an adorable gift idea for only $28.95.  All of these products are amazing and can be bought separately as well! My favorite product is the Sandy Santa body butter as it is an amazing exfoliant that you can break off into small pieces!!
With the 2 for 1 sale I got to pick out another gift set for free which made me pick up the Snow Fairy Cone gift set.  Now the the Snow Fairy holiday collection is one of Lush's best products because it smells absolutely amazing!!  In the bottle it can be a tad overwhelming but it feels absolutely delicious on!  This gift set included The Snow Fairy Shower Gel, the Shimmy Shimmy Sparkle Bar, and an Angel's Delight soap!  My favorite from this gift set is the Shimmy Shimmy Sparkle Bar.  Its an adorable cream colored heart bar that melts at room temperature giving your body a little extra sparkle in all the right places!  It smells of lavender and vanilla and its absolutely delicious! I know this gift set is still available online and these products are also sold separately.  I was particularly pleased that I got all of these products for free with this Christmas sale :)
The final gift box on the far right I actually received as a gift but I thought I would throw it in here while I was at it!  This gift set is by far my favorite!  It is called the Night before Christmas and has 6 Lush treats inside!  It consists of A Father Christmas bath bomb, A Shoot for the Stars bath bomb, a Blue FUN, a Golden Wonder bath bomb, the Snowman bath bomb, a Christmas Eve bubble bar, and the Twilight bath bomb!  I have a HUGE weakness for bath bombs as they make my bath the most beautiful colors and smell delicious so this was the perfect gift for me!  I am really excited to try the Shoot for the Stars bath bomb because I think it will make my bath really beautiful colors!
The last few little treats I picked up were Santa's Grotto bath bomb, another Christmas Eve bubble bar, the Father Christmas bath bomb, a Dreamtime Bath melt, a Pop in the Bath bubble bar, and Honey I Washed the Kids soap bar.
All of these products are absolutely amazing.  They are extremely fresh and delicious and I cannot wait to use them.  I'm thinking of making a post on the type of pamper evenings I have using these products so let me know if that would be of any interest!  Have a lovely day guys!!

Looks: People Say & Wide Eyes...

(Hat: Target, Sweater: Hinge, Black Leggings, Ankle Boots: Dolce Vita, Bag: Poverty Flats)
Two days ago  after visiting my Grammy for the afternoon I came home to the street of my apartment totally blocked off for a movie they were filming! I was able to get to my apartment but leaving again wasn't as easy so my roommate and I took advantage of the perfect fall weather and took a walk.  I loved this hat I found at Target and it was such a great price and as you might tell I am in love with my new bag as I've had it in quite a few of my recent posts :)
(Sweatshirt: Obey, Skinny Jeans: Free People, Boots: Docs)

I have really been wanting to try a darker lipstick for the fall just because I thought it would be fun and different but I wasn't sure quite how to wear it but yesterday I was feeling adventurous and paired with my super cute leopard skinnys and cozy Obey sweatshirt I decided to go for it and I think it was pretty fun.  I sent a picture to my boyfriend and I think it might have freaked him out a bit but I liked it and it was fun trying something new.  I always say that lipstick is a girl's best accessory :)
(Scarf: Forever 21, Coat: Forever 21, Jeans: Rag and Bone, Ankle Boots: Jeffrey Cambell)
This morning I was feeling super girly and decided to pull out one of my favorite coats! I might still be a little over enthusiastic about it being fall as it is still a bit warm for this look but I am just too excited about layering and fall fashion to let the weather get me down! My roommate and I were able to get a few shots of this look right before running to class and I really loved how they turned out!

All of these looks are featured here : at my lookbook account!  So let me know what you think !
Thanks guys have a lovely day!

16 days...

In 16 days my best friend is coming home. From where you might ask? Washington! The very cold very far away town of Spokane.  My best friend also happens to be my boyfriend and his name is Trevor.  He is the greatest guy I know and he's in school at Gonzaga.  Being so far away is hard but we make it work with Skype dates, phone calls, and even hand written letters which I personally think are very cute!  In the beginning of October I got to fly up and visit him at school and just getting one weekend together proved that having to spend all of that time apart is worth it. Being 1,204 miles away from each other teaches you a lot, both about yourself and the person you love.  You develop a new level of trust and a healthy dose of patience.  But most of all you learn how much you love that person.  The only thing I can appreciate from when we are apart is when we get to be together. There is no way to describe the moment when you see them for the first time after months apart.  And every minute after that becomes that much more amazing.  It feels like all of the time apart disappears and is far far away and its like we were never apart.  Everything just falls into place.  I can't quite put into words how completely excited I am for Trevor to be home but I can give you a visual in which I will definitely be jumping up and down a bit and there might even be some squealing. (I really can't wait!!!)  We have so many exciting things planned together when he gets home and I can't wait to document them and share them here as we will be going on adventures and doing so many fun things!!
Yes we did go skydiving together this summer :)
And we travelled to the top of the world! (well Griffith Observatory really!)
And we go on bike rides!
And I absolutely adore him :)

Happy Wednesday!

Although today is only a Wednesday and nothing truly spectacular has happened I decided to share my day with you as it has been quite nice.  I am currently cozied up on my couch with an amazing cup of tea enjoying the view from my window and being extremely Halloween festive watching Twilight (which is extremely cheesy of me !) Wednesday's are the beginning of the weekend for me as I only have class Monday through Wednesday, (Don't be fooled I'm always working) and so I have decided to begin my weekend in a relaxing way taking a break from all of my work to bake some cookies, and maybe even treat myself to a lush bubble bath! Have a lovely Wednesday! xx

Hi guys! This morning I  was so excited because when I woke up the weather report promised rain! I absolutely love the rain and living in L.A. I don't get much of it! So all day in my classes I was constantly checking out the window to see if the rain had come, but by the end of the day I realized that it wasn't going to happen. Very disappointing ! However I did get this lovely look in the sunshine and so I thought I could share it with you! I just picked up this sweater at Topshop and it is absolutely amaazzing! It is actually the softest thing I have ever felt and I think it is a perfect winter blue! I also really really love my Docs because they are so shiny!  I hope you like this look and if you do I'd love to hear what you think in the comments below! October Favorites!

I  thought I would make a post of some of my October favorites! This will be a post of all of my favorites from October including clothes, beauty products, and anything else that I have really been loving!
The first thing I have absolutely been obsessed with is actually a whole store!  The company is called Lush and you can go to their website here!  They are a company that produces fresh beauty and skin products that are made completely with natural ingredients!! In the last month I have really been trying a wide range of their products but these have been my favorite:
                                                                           Bath Bombs:
                                                                           Sex Bomb
                                                                          Blackberry
                                                                       Space Girl
I love baths I find them so relaxing and nice these bath bombs from lush make me feel totally pampered when I take a bath! My favorites that I have tried so far have been the sex bomb, the blackberry, and the space girl bath bombs! They smell absolutely amazing ! And they leave your skin feeling so soft!

                                                                      Fresh Face Mask:
                                                               Catastrophe Cosmetic
I have also been loving their fresh face mask called Catastrophe Cosmetic!  It costs only about $6 and it is absolutely amazing! Lately I have been having little trouble spots with my skin and I have found that it really helps reduce redness and irritation and really helps remove blemishes! It smells absolutely amazing and is made with blueberries and calamine! The only downside is that because it is a fresh face masks it only usable for three weeks so I had to make sure I used it a lot because I didn't want to waste any of this amazing product! I definitely recommend this product its one of my absolute favorites!
                                                                  Shower Soaps:
                                                                   Sea Vegetable
The last thing from lush that I am really enjoying right now is a soap bar called Sea Vegetable! I originally was given a sample of this when I was in the lush store and it was so amazing that I had to go back and buy more! Its a really refreshing scent that has salt and seaweed in the bar exfoliating and hydrating my skin! It feels so fresh and leaves my skin feeling so soft! I am absolutely in love with it!

My next October favorite has been the Zebra hot chocolate from Starbucks! Its on the secret menu so Shhhh! ;) This hot chocolate is absolutely amazing and even though I know that I'm supposed to be drinking as much of my pumpkin spice lattes as I can, I can't help but crave these hot chocolates!  It is basically a hot chocolate blended with normal chocolate and white mocha and just makes it a bit sweeter! Sometimes I also get it salted and it tastes like chocolate covered pretzels! It is so delicious and the perfect treat after a long day to get you warmed up! I love love love it!

My next October favorite is really random but has been Gossip Girl! I watched the show when it was still on the WB but since then I have been missing it! And so I have been rewatching the series and I absolutely love it! The show does an amazing job at highlighting the most amazing clothes and designers! I also just love watching it because it makes me want to live in New York! And of course because of Chuck Bass ;)
                                                                       Dior Blush

I have really really been loving my new Dior Rosy Glow blush!  You can see it online here!  It claims to react to the moisture in each persons skin and create a customized blushing glow for your skin color! I absolutely love it! It is such a beautiful color and is quite pigmented! Its a decent price for Dior and only costs $44.
                                                                    Chanel Mascara

My next October beauty favorite is the Le Volume De Chanel Mascara. It is decently priced at only $30. You can get your own here!  This mascara is absolutely amazing!! You can just put two swipes of it on your lashes and they can look fresh and still eye catching or you can add more layers for a more dramatic effect without having to worry about your lashes getting clumpy!  I absolutely love this mascara and I don't even want to try any new ones because I love it so much! It makes my lashes super long and curled and it's just absolutely amazing!

My last October favorite has been the bag I have been using all month! It is from ASOS and you can see it here!  I have had this bag for a while and  i was actually using a different bag from ASOS at the beginning of this month! But early in October I went to visit my boyfriend who is at school in Washington and I needed a bag that could hold my laptop for my trip! I absolutely love my other bag but it just didn't have the space and when I picked up this bag it was absolutely perfect! I got it for only $50 but its now actually on sale for $37! I love this bag because it is such a beautiful color and because it can truly hold so much! Now that I am back at school and always out it is essential for me to have a bag that hold all of the things I need without looking absolutely packed! I am really loving this bag right now! I was also thinking of doing a what's in my bag post! Maybe that can be in the future!

So that pretty much wraps up my October favorites ! I hope you enjoyed it and hopefully you can enjoy some of these products as much as I do!
Have a lovely day guys!
